Toyota prices the 2027 Sequoia from $69,900 and adds its first Trailhunter version

Toyota’s biggest SUV can now leave the dealer ready for the trail. The 2027 Sequoia starts at $69,900, and for the first time it can be ordered with a Trailhunter package that turns the SR5 into a factory-built overlander.
That package bolts on Old Man Emu suspension, an underbody skid plate, front recovery hooks, Michelin LTX Trail tires and bronze wheels, while Crawl Control, Multi-Terrain Select and a locking rear differential come as standard. The TRD Pro moves up too, to FOX QS3 adjustable shocks, and adds red tow hooks and a new Honeycomb paint.

Every Sequoia keeps the i-FORCE MAX hybrid, a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 paired with an electric motor for 437 hp and 583 lb-ft, rated to tow 9,120 lb. The bigger change is how it handles a trailer: radar and a camera now spot a hitched trailer and measure it on their own, blind-spot monitoring stretches along its length, a trailer version of Lane Trace Assist steers to keep the rig centered, and the backup guide can partly steer when reversing while watching for a jackknife. Toyota rolled out a similar trailer toolkit on the 2027 Tundra, so the two tow vehicles now speak the same language.
Inside, a 14-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital gauge display are standard, as is a built-in dash cam that saves 20-second clips and Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. A new rear-seat reminder uses radar hidden in the headliner to detect movement in the second and third rows after the driver has parked and left.

Toyota first showed the update in July and held back the details until now. Its release gives only the starting price, so the cost of a Trailhunter or a fully loaded Capstone is still to come.
