BMW now covers the first stretch of public charging for its newest electric cars in the US: eligible 2027 i5, i7 and iX3 models come with $500 in charging credits plus a free year of membership at IONNA, the fast-charging network it co-founded.

The money comes in two parts. $300 can be spent across the BMW ChargingNetwork, which puts more than 15 providers such as Shell Recharge, ChargePoint and EVgo inside the My BMW app, while $200 works only at IONNA. The package launched on November 5, and drivers who bought or leased a qualifying 2027 car before that date can still claim it.

What owners get Details
BMW ChargingNetwork credit $300, more than 15 providers
IONNA credit $200
IONNA membership 1 year, 25% off charging
Valid for Up to 1 year from the date of sale
Eligible models 2027 BMW i5, i7, iX3

Owners sign up in the My BMW app through the Charging Wallet; after that the credits are applied on their own, and once they are spent, sessions go to the card on file. $500 will not pay for a year of road trips, but a quarter off at IONNA keeps working after the credit is gone. The network BMW runs with seven other carmakers now has more than 200 sites with chargers of up to 400 kW.

More electric BMWs are on the way: the iX5 and i3 reach US showrooms in the first quarter of 2027. BMW has not said whether the package will extend to them.
