Editorial policy

Accuracy and sources

  • Names, numbers, dates and quotes are compared with the sources while a story is prepared, and automated checks run before it is published. Editors review published stories and fix mistakes.
  • We link to primary sources wherever possible: official announcements, press releases, company blogs, regulatory filings, release notes.
  • What a company or a person says stays their words (“according to Sony…”); we never turn it into a fact of our own.
  • Rumors and leaks are clearly labeled as such, with the source named and our assessment of its reliability.
  • Every story is built from more than one source and adds context of our own. We do not republish a single press release in other words.

Headlines and images

  • Headlines must match the story and must not promise more than the text delivers. No clickbait.
  • We use official images (press kits, official sites) and freely licensed images (e.g. Wikimedia Commons) with credit. AI-generated illustrations are always labeled “Illustration created with AI” and are never presented as real photos.

Independence

  • Advertisers and partners have no influence on our editorial decisions.
  • Sponsored content and affiliate links are clearly labeled and separated from news.
  • No ads for betting and casinos, alcohol, tobacco or anything else that harms health: we turn them down.
  • We disclose material conflicts of interest.

Fairness and respect

  • A reader should always see what is a fact, what is our view or a guess, and what is paid content.
  • We keep private lives private, are extra careful with children and victims, and treat no one as guilty before a court says so.
  • We do not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender or social status.

Corrections

See our Corrections policy. Significant corrections are marked in the article with what changed and when, and are applied to every language version.
