Pikmin Bloom turns five with jewel-wearing Pikmin and a month-long November event

Pikmin Bloom, the walking game that turns everyday steps into flowers, is five years old, and its birthday present comes with a deadline. Seedlings for a new kind of Decor Pikmin dressed in toy jewelry are handed out during an event that runs from November 1 to November 30, local time.

The new 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry Decor Pikmin come in 8 types, and seedlings land at random, so there is no guarantee of finishing the set. They appear as rewards for Event Challenge missions; when the Big Flower in the middle of the event stage blooms, a Gold Seedling is added on top. Two older anniversary looks are back for anyone who missed them: the 4th Anniversary Flower Box and the 3rd Anniversary Cupcake Decor, though Ice Pikmin cannot wear the cupcake.

The event currency is Fruit Acrylic Charms. Two mission sets ask players to collect them, one paying out limited Mii outfits and the other a choice of rewards, with each 600 charms unlocking a pick. Charms come from planting flowers, Event Challenges and the Mystery Boxes dropped by Brilliant Mushrooms, which all three anniversary Pikmin types are best at breaking.

On selected days, Giant Brilliant Mushrooms with rarer boxes show up, the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn can be used up to 3 times a day, and the closing round stretches over four days, Friday to Monday. The charms become useless once the event ends. The new Pikmin need app version 156 or later to display properly; the game itself remains free to start, with optional purchases.
