Cat-Astrophy, a pixel-art space roguelite about an abducted cat, is out on all consoles

An abducted cat lost in space is the hero of Cat-Astrophy, a pixel-art roguelite that landed on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Steam on the same day, November 4.
The pitch is that no two runs should play alike. Writing on Xbox Wire, Heraan Studios describes each expedition starting with a question rather than a set loadout: what kind of Polo will you build this time? Modules picked up along the way change abilities, stats and movement, some evolve, and some only reveal their synergy when combined with another.

Combat is built around directional attacks that can be tuned separately for forward, upward and downward strikes. A fatigue meter fills as you chain hits, so spamming one move is not an option and knowing when to back off matters as much as aiming. Between fights, rooms throw in parkour sections, shops, events and minibosses, and you pick the order of the planets from your ship, which means route choice becomes part of the build.
Death is not a full reset. Star Fragments carried home unlock permanent upgrades and new routes, while memory fragments piece together Polo’s past and why he was taken. Two layers of progression is the genre’s standard recipe, but a cat abduction is a fresher wrapper for it than most.

Published by Dojo System, the game is listed at $14.99 on Steam. Its store page promises procedurally generated planets and a signature tool called the Stellar Cursor that players have to master.
