EA Play has picked up two remasters that sit at opposite ends of the comfort-game spectrum. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, the HD return of PopCap’s lane defense hit, and MySims: Cozy Bundle, which packs MySims and MySims Kingdom into one release, are now part of The Play List, the subscription’s library of included games.

On Xbox that matters more than the EA Play name suggests. The membership is bundled with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, so both games can be played on console, on PC or through Xbox Cloud Gaming without a separate purchase.

What is in each game

  • Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted keeps the original lawn-defense formula and adds new levels, local co-op and versus play, the classic minigames, new challenges such as Cloudy Day, and a Rest In Peace mode where one loss ends the run. There is also a gallery of unreleased concept art and studio history.
  • MySims: Cozy Bundle brings back the two Wii-era spin-offs from The Sims, with building, decorating, light puzzles and a town and a kingdom to grow, plus customizable Sims and their famously odd neighbors.

Taken together they cover two moods well: a tight puzzle game for when you want to think, and a gentle builder for when you do not.

EA Play members also keep their usual 10% discount on EA digital purchases, and this month’s in-game rewards cover Battlefield 6, Apex Legends and EA’s sports titles, most of them claimable until the end of November.
