Bad Monkey season two trailer pulls Vince Vaughn into a Florida mob war on December 2

Vince Vaughn’s disgraced Florida detective is out of book material, so Bad Monkey is writing its own. The second season of the Apple TV comedy tells a new original story rather than adapting more Carl Hiaasen, and the first trailer shows Andrew Yancy back in the middle of a murder he was never supposed to see.
This time the victim is the state’s most reliable fixer. An ambitious state attorney teams Yancy with a by-the-book forensic accountant to find the killer, and the case drops him between two rival crime outfits. Along the way he runs into a well-read mob boss, the boss’s unhinged son and a tough young woman who needs his protection.
The home front is no calmer. Yancy is dealing with his aging father, with feelings for Dr. Rosa Campesino (Natalie Martinez) that never got resolved, and with a loud animal relocation entrepreneur whose business is wrecking the local environment. Rosa, meanwhile, starts her own investigation into a mysterious rash.
Vaughn, Martinez, Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz return. The new faces are John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski and Zavior Phillips, with guest turns from Sofia Boutella, Dax Shepard, June Diane Raphael and others. Malkovich in a Hiaasen-flavoured Florida crime comedy is the kind of casting the show’s tone was built for.
Bill Lawrence, co-creator of Ted Lasso, is back as showrunner, with Warner Bros. Television producing. The season has 10 episodes. The first arrives on Wednesday, December 2, and the rest follow weekly on Wednesdays until the finale on February 3, 2027. Season one is already on Apple TV for anyone who wants to catch up.
