The Remarried Empress is now the biggest local original premiere ever on Disney+ and Hulu

A Korean palace drama about a divorce has handed Disney+ and Hulu their biggest local original premiere yet. According to Disney, The Remarried Empress drew more views in its first three days than any other local original on the two services worldwide, and it is the top Korean premiere in more than 50 markets, including the US, the UK, France, Germany and Mexico.
The story starts where most romances end. Empress Navier (Shin Mina) agrees to the divorce her husband Sovieshu (Ju Jihoon) demands so he can marry a runaway slave, on one condition: she gets to marry his rival, Crown Prince Heinrey (Lee Jongsuk). The series adapts a Naver Webtoon with nearly 3 billion views, so it arrived with a fan base already in place.
Disney even released it on November 3, a day ahead of schedule, as a thank-you to those fans. What the company has not shared is the number of views behind the record, only the ranking.
Four episodes are streaming now. Two more arrive every Wednesday from November 11 until the finale on November 25.
