Gentle Monster’s Android XR glasses with Gemini go on sale in December
Google’s Gemini-powered AI glasses finally have a launch month. Gentle Monster, one of the two eyewear brands designing Android XR frames with Google and Samsung, says its first Intelligent Eyewear collection goes on sale this December.
The date arrived almost in passing, at the end of a teaser for a short film that stars Joaquin Phoenix and was directed by Jonathan Glazer. The full film is due in mid-November, and the brand is already taking sign-ups for a preview event in New York.
The other design partner, Warby Parker, told investors that pre-orders for its own collection open on November 12, with deliveries during the holiday season, 9to5Google reported. Gentle Monster’s product page covers the basics: Gemini handles live translation, directions and questions about what you are looking at, the glasses pair with Android and iOS phones, a charge lasts up to 9 hours, and the case holds 7 or more extra charges.
They will not be the first Android XR glasses on shelves: Google introduced XREAL’s wired Aura in that role on October 28. Neither Gentle Monster nor Warby Parker has published a price yet.
