Apple’s rebuilt Health app gives your body an age and tests your fitness via the camera

Apple wants its Health app to answer a blunt question: is your body older or younger than your passport says? The redesigned app coming with iOS 27.3 turns Apple Watch data into a single Health Age figure and adds fitness tests you run at home with an iPhone camera.
Health Age lives in a new Longevity tab. It weighs VO2 max, resting heart rate, sleep and heart rate variability against your actual age, and you can feed in lab results such as A1c and LDL cholesterol to sharpen the picture. The same tab follows long-term trends for sleep, heart, movement, hearing, nutrition, metabolism and mental wellbeing.
Day to day, a new Insights tab writes short summaries of your sleep, heart, workouts, vitals, cycle and how ready you are to train, with a For You section that suggests changes, for example to a bedtime routine after several nights of broken sleep. Apple says Apple Intelligence sits at the core of the app, and short videos and articles from its clinical experts sit alongside the data.
The movement evaluations are the most unusual part. With the iPhone camera and Apple Watch, the app checks balance, strength, flexibility, VO2 max and how well you move, talking you through each test and showing hints on screen. According to Apple, the vision models run entirely on the device and no video is recorded, stored or shared. A fitness check that never leaves the phone is a sensible answer to the obvious privacy worry.
The redesign first appeared in the iOS 27.2 beta, as 9to5Mac noted, and is now in iOS 27.3 testing. On top of US English, it now speaks Spanish, French, Portuguese, Norwegian, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, both Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and the global version of English.
Apple says the new app will reach everyone as a free update later this year. Ukrainian, German and many other languages are not on the list yet; Apple only promises that more will follow.
