First-gen Acura NSX owners can now buy over 3,000 factory-made reproduction parts

Keeping a first-generation NSX on the road used to mean hunting for used parts and hoping they fit. Acura now sells more than 3,000 factory reproduction parts for the 1991-2005 car through its US dealers and the Honda DreamShop.
The catalogue goes much deeper than trim pieces. Carscoops, which went through the listings, found camshafts, fuel injectors, throttle bodies, transmission cases and shift forks alongside radiators, headlights, gauges, wheels, brakes and even a genuine windshield. Which parts you can order depends on the year, trim and gearbox of the car.
This is the US arm of Honda Heritage Parts, which began in Japan earlier this year. It has two halves: reproduction parts built with the original materials and methods, as the NSX pieces are, and newly developed compatible parts for components Honda no longer makes. When the program was first announced for America, The Drive reported a summer start, so owners have waited a few months longer than planned.
Honda has good reason to start with the NSX. The mid-engined coupe was built for a decade and a half and remains the brand’s best-known sports car. A part stamped by the original maker is the easiest way to keep a restoration honest.
Acura says it plans to widen the program, without naming which classic Honda or Acura performance models come next.
