Windows 11 test build lets you type your PIN without waiting for face unlock

Anyone who has stared at a Windows laptop while face recognition takes its time will like this one. A new Windows 11 test build no longer makes you wait for the face or fingerprint check to finish before you can type your PIN.
Instead, Windows Hello accepts whichever method succeeds first. If the camera recognizes you, you are in. If it struggles in bad light, you can just start typing. Microsoft says sign-in and unlock should also behave more consistently and give clearer prompts.
There is one exception: at certain moments, such as after a restart, the PIN still has to come first. After that, face and fingerprint work as usual.
The change is in Build 26340.9882 for Insiders in the Experimental channel. Microsoft has not said when it will reach regular Windows 11 users.
