Bradley Cooper’s G.I. Joe reboot from Danny McBride is set for October 20, 2028

Bradley Cooper’s turn as Duke in Paramount’s new G.I. Joe now has a date: October 20, 2028. The studio set the release on Friday, The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline report, for a film directed by Danny McBride of The Righteous Gemstones.
McBride co-wrote the script with Jeff Fradley and John Carcieri, and the plot is being kept under wraps. Paramount calls the project a reimagining, which the franchise could use: the last attempt, 2021’s Snake Eyes, took just $40 million, and THR describes the two earlier films as moneymakers that critics disliked.
The date puts the film two weeks before November 3, 2028, when Deadline says Paramount’s untitled Duffer Brothers film and Warner Bros.’ animated The Lunar Chronicles are both due.
The same Paramount reshuffle moves the new Paranormal Activity from May 21 to October 22, 2027, right before Halloween. Ian Tuason directs that one for Blumhouse Atomic; the series has passed $900 million worldwide across seven films.
