Sony delays the November 12 launch of its Pulse Elevate speakers over a production issue

Anyone who pre-ordered Sony’s first wireless speakers will have to wait longer: the Pulse Elevate set will not go on sale on November 12 as planned. Quality testing turned up a production issue, Sony wrote in an update to its PlayStation Blog announcement dated November 6.
The company gave no new date and only promised to bring the speakers to players “soon”. Kotaku points out that Sony has not said anything about refunds either, even though pre-orders have been open since September 1.

The pair costs $219.99 (€219.99, £199.99) and was designed for desktop setups around PS5, PC and Mac, as well as for PlayStation Portal on the go. Each speaker uses planar magnetic drivers, the right one hides a microphone with AI noise rejection, and the set connects over lossless PlayStation Link and Bluetooth at the same time.
A delay announced less than a week before shipping is about as late as they come, and it lands right before the holiday shopping season.
